Instructions For the First Generation Aqustic

1.A) User Controls

1.B) POWERING ON, press (when display blank) the □ power button. Display will show factory-default or user-selected volume levels and background noise dettings when the Aqustic Hearing Aid is ON. Power OFF (when displaying information). Press and hold □ button for 5 seconds until the display disappears.

1.C) BACKGROUND NOISE-LEVEL SETTING, the user is able to enable and disable the background noise eliminator feature by a press of a button.Press the □ button to change background noise setting to one of the following two settings. 

FOR QUIET SURROUNDINGS, used while reading and resting. The Aqustic Hearing Aid will automatically eliminate background noise up to ~45dB and the earphone will be very quiet.However, when a doorbell or telephone rings, the Aqustic Hearing Aid will be activated and amplify the sound, allowing the user to use everyday indicators.When the Noise Level is at Three Bars, the Aqustic Hearing Aid will filter out, not amplify, constant high decibel sounds. This setting is preferred when the noise level is very high and the User prefers a relatively quiet environment. FOR VERY NOISY SURROUNDINGSThe “No Bar” level may also be preferred when the User needs to hear sound details, for instance, watching TV, listening to music, engaging in a conversation, taking a walk, or being in a crowd.

1.D) VOLUME CONTROL, pressing the ▲ button on the left increases the volume level of the Aqustic Hearing Aid; pressing the ▼ button on the right decreases the volume. Each press changes the digital volume display, UP or DOWN by one level, each indicating a change of 1 dB in volume. NOTE: The maximum volume level of the Aqustic Hearing Aid is reached when 28 is displayed. This number represents the highest dB level the human ear can safely tolerate. Any higher volume of sound could cause discomfort or even hearing impairment.
